Local historian and librarian, Jean Lythgoe, and local Genealogist, Steve Salvato, are bringing their expertise to the Heritage Museum Park! You don't want to miss this hands-on Genealogy Workshop. Jean and Steve will lead you through the process of researching your family and your heritage.
There is so much information out there! How do you know where to begin? Jean and Steve will help you navigate the numerous resources and websites that contain the information to help you on the journey to uncovering your past. From free resources, to paid, there is so much information you can find.
Bring your own laptop or computer in order to get started on your search.
Learning about your genealogy is important for many reasons, varying for each individual. Here is a list of just some of the reasons understanding your history (and the history of your ancestors) can be so crucial:
Genealogy is defined as: A line of descent traced continuously from an ancestor, i.e. the study and tracing of lines of descent.
And family history is defined as: The history of a family; a narrative about this. In later use also: the study of the history of a family or families; genealogy as an area of research.
Tickets are $5 for Members and $10 for Non-Members. Proceeds from this event benefit the Heritage Museum Park.
